Naturally a photo should draw you in. Not just by its subject matter but how you actually compose the frame... Ideally it should push or "lead" your eye towards the focal point of the frame. I tend to rely on leading lines to do this... something leading in or out of frame is usually helpful and the more contrast the better. I've found that since we read left to right it can easily translate when your movement is happening in that pattern. It's interesting how sometimes the best frame can be the difference of just lowering your lens a few inches and revealing your subject in an easily identifiable space. *there's no wrong way to take a photo.. so take it all with a grain of salt.
